sounding out north yorkshire 2013

10 10 2013

this summer, i return to two places which have a particular attraction and a very strong character. i am very pleased to have this opportunity to visit a region i really like, and playing there is always a great pleasure.

the acoustics in both places are very different. the energy too. and as a result, my playing changes accordingly. i seem to remember the same feeling from previous visits. i was struck both times by lady chapel. at first, the sound is very unpretentious. it does not seem great as the place is fairly small. but instead, the room is very responsive and colourful. and the quality is very sweet. moreover, each time i played was very inspirational. unlike most churches, the vibe was more full on, devotional, nearly trance like.
